Have you had a conversation that you thought would be about one thing, but it turned out to be far more in depth and WAY better?
I met Bob Mathers on the east coast and he asked to interview me about my new book "Reclaim the Moment: 7 Strategies to Build a Better Now" on his Growth Mixtape Podcast. I figured it would be a conversation about approaches to personal development, but it turned out to be so much more than that.
We talked about the ideas in the book (about maintaining focus in an wildly distracted world) and then added:
--> Real-world Footloose - Seattle's infamous Teen Dance Ordinance and how my friends and I had enough. We overturned and rewrote the law and changed the history and future of the city. No big deal.
--> Why we all seem hardwired for misery and how we can turn that around for ourselves and those with whom we work and live
--> Reinventing yourself and not being locked into one path, one community, one programmed way through life
--> Focus: As I talk about in the book, if you're juggling two beanbags and a knife, I hope your attention is on the knife
Bob rules. This episode rules. And as Bob said, this is “an amazing example of the magic that can happen when we chase our curiosity.”
